Matthijs is a theoretical physicist specialising in modified theories of gravity, modelling and research software engineering.
As part of the group, he works on extending Rubin photometry to be suitable for joint Rubin-Roman modelling.
Previously, he worked on high-resolution imaging pipelines for the International Low-Frequency ARray (LOFAR) Telescope and, before that, extended canonical quantisation methods to study the quantum effects of modified theories of gravity in the (very) early universe.
